Position Overview The Family Practice Physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan, with a focus on improving health outcomes in the American Indian and Alaska Native population. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
- Conduct patient evaluations, physical exams, and medical histories
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
- Prescribe medications in accordance with IHS formulary guidelines
- Provide patient education on disease prevention and health maintenance
- Coordinate referrals using the Patient Referred Care (PRC) process
- Collaborate with clinical staff on quality improvement initiatives
- Follow all IHS infection control and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system
- Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity
- Long-term, stable contract with extension potential

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
- Current DEA registration
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS and PALS preferred
- Experience with Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare systems preferred
- Experience working in rural or underserved settings preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States
- Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearance
- Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)
