This opportunity is in Northern Arizona where Hope and Navajo Nations meet. If you like outdoors and are fascinated by Native culture, this assignment is for you. You will be working five minutes from Canyon de Chelly, one of the largest, and most significant archaeological preserves in the U.S. And if you are not fascinated by the 5,000-year history of the park, you will be stunned by its red rock formations and wooded, red-floored canyons. Meanwhile you will be within driving distance of five other National Parks including the Grand Canyon. You won't want to miss the Hubble Trading Post where Navajo and Hope traded wool blanket for pesh-tai, tokens they could use to buy other goods. It has been essentially unchanged since 1883. More importantly you will be alleviating the health care shortage in one of the most underserved regions in the U.S. Navajo and Hope are 5-6 times more likely to suffer from debilitating chronic health conditions due to poor living conditions and lack of access to care.

Airport Information: Albuquerque International Sunport
The Albuquerque International Sunport, known for its distinct southwestern architecture and cultural decor, is New Mexico's largest commercial airport, welcoming over 5 million passengers each year. The Sunport boasts a world-class art collection, unique amenities, New Mexican cuisine, and many local artisanal gifts. approximately 5 miles southeast of downtown. It serves as the primary airport for the region and offers more than 250 nonstop flights daily to various destinations.

About the Facility: Tsaile Health Center
This facility is located in Northeast Arizona as part of the Chinle Service Unit. It is an ambulatory care center and is situated at the base of the Lukachukai Mountain range with local elevations of 7,000 to 8,000 feet. Two lakes are within 10-15 minutes which offer camping, fishing, and non-motorized boating. The Tsaile Health Center has 9,031 registered clients. Clinic hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (closed on holidays). The clinic is located on the Colorado Plateau with excellent opportunities for photography, hiking, running, road biking, cross country skiing, and mountain biking. Canyon de Chelly National Monument is within30 miles of the clinic and is a wonderful place for exploring and siteseeing, running and mountain biking.

Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• Shall perform outpatient family practice duties.
• Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the provider will be testing patients and will work at alternate sites with alternate hours within the Chinle Service Unit to accommodate patient flow and safety.
• Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
• Basic FNP/PA duties will include seeing patients at the walk-in clinic.

FNP/PA - REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a minimum of twelve months of experience.
• Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in a state of the United States or its territories to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
• Must be certified through the AANP/NNCPA.
• Must have current Basic Life Support.
• Must have a minimum of three current letters of reference from other healthcare providers familiar with the provider's clinical practice skills within the same discipline. One must be from an immediate supervisor.
