Maintenance Assistant

Job Description

Golden State Care Center is seeking a reliable Part-Time Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe and clean environment. This role includes routine maintenance, repairs, and grounds-keeping under the direction of the Maintenance Director.

Schedule:

Part-Time (30–35 hours/week)
Flexible; weekends/holidays as needed

Essential Duties

Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC)
Complete preventative maintenance tasks
Respond to maintenance requests
Maintain grounds and facility areas
Conduct safety checks and report hazards
Assist with equipment setup and emergency repairs
Keep tools and work areas organized
Follow safety and OSHA guidelines

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred
1 year of maintenance or related experience preferred
Basic knowledge of building systems
Ability to use tools safely and work independently
Reliable with good communication skills
Must pass background check and pre-employment requirements

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs; stand, bend, climb as needed
Work indoors and outdoors
Respond to emergencies when required
