Medical Lab Technician

Medical Technologist Location: Bethel, AK Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule: Variable - 8 hour shifts, including days, evenings, or nights. Job Description: Under the direction of the laboratory manager, the Medical Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory tests, conducting quality control procedures, and communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients. Responsibilities:

Conduct laboratory tests across various disciplines including chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology. Ensure strict adherence to quality control protocols. Provide direction and support to Medical Laboratory Assistants. Maintain effective communication with healthcare team members regarding test results and patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required. Board eligible by NCA or ASCP, with the expectation to complete board certification within one year of employment. 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or a formal student internship in a clinical laboratory setting. Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) required within one year of employment. Proficiency in clinical laboratory instrumentation as a generalist.
