Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job DescriptionThe Occupational Therapy Assistant is a licensed provider of occupational therapy services that delivers skilled occupational therapy treatments to patients following the plan of care established by and under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The position carries out a therapeutic plan directed toward maximizing independence in activities of daily living, improving mobility, relieving pain, increasing strength, and decreasing deformity due to disease or injury.ResponsibilitiesImplements the plan of care as established by an Occupational Therapist.Provides occupational therapy services according to the state practice act, under the supervision of an occupational therapist.Makes recommendations to and participates in the revisions to the plan of care.Updates the Occupational Therapist of changes in the patient status that will impact the plan of care.Educates the patient/caregivers in treatment and care to engage patient in being an active participant in continuing activities at home.Completes all required documentation according to current policies and procedures. Documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved.Maintains and enhances professional clinical knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in occupational therapy.
