Job Description\n Niktor is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Holyoke, Massachusetts.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Psychiatric\n Discipline: RN\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 8 hours, evenings\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Job Overview\n Join a behavioral health inpatient team providing direct and collaborative nursing care to patients experiencing psychiatric and co-occurring substance-use needs.\n This role is suited for an experienced psychiatric RN who is comfortable working in a dynamic inpatient behavioral health environment, supporting patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations while maintaining a safe, therapeutic milieu.Responsibilities\n \n Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families/legal guardians.\n Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.\n Participate actively as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.\n Contribute to individualized treatment plans, including appropriate goals and interventions.\n Assess patient needs and apply the nursing process using a trauma-informed, recovery-focused approach.\n Develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.\n Use sound clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills in complex behavioral health situations.\n Support crisis management and de-escalation interventions.\n Delegate appropriately and contribute to team coordination.\n Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.\n Remain calm, organized, flexible, and professional during stressful situations.\n Float to similar or lower-acuity units when operationally needed.\n Perform charge responsibilities when assigned.\n Required Qualifications\n \n Active Massachusetts RN license at the time of submission.\n Three years of adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psychiatric experience required.\n CPR certification required.\n Inpatient psychiatric and/or substance-use experience.\n Ability to work evening shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday.\n Willingness to float and take charge.\n Preferred Experience & Skills\n \n BSN preferred.\n Restraint-reduction, de-escalation, and crisis-intervention experience preferred.\n Advanced knowledge of behavioral health and substance-abuse treatment modalities.\n Experience applying trauma-informed recovery principles.\n Strong communication, time-management, delegation, coaching, and team-building skills.\n Sufficient computer and typing skills for clinical documentation.\n Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally.\n Compensation & Assignment Details\n \n Guaranteed hours: 40 hours/week\n \n Call: No call\n \n \n \n \n \n Local candidates are welcome and encouraged to applyAbout Niktor\n \n Niktor provides services to many Fortune 500 companies and MSPs across the United States, Canada, EU, and India.
