Dimensional/Mechanical Inspector The Dimensional/Mechanical Quality Inspector will support the manufacturing and assembly of precision mechanical components and structures for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. This is an hourly, non-exempt position located in our Torrance facility. In this role, you will ensure mechanical parts and assemblies meet drawing, specification, and quality requirements throughout the production lifecycle. Responsibilities Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of machined parts, sheet metal, hardware, and mechanical assemblies Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and acceptance criteria Verify material certifications, traceability, and compliance documentation Perform visual inspection for workmanship, damage, cleanliness, and configuration accuracy Support first article inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements Document nonconformances clearly and work with manufacturing and engineering on resolution Maintain accurate inspection and acceptance records in accordance with the quality management system Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection methods and defect reduction Assist with customer and government source inspections as required Basic Qualifications 3+ years of experience inspecting mechanical or structural hardware in an aerospace or defense environment Strong proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T Knowledge of mechanical workmanship standards and assembly practices High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills Preferred Skills and Experience Experience supporting R&D and early-stage production programs Prior involvement inspecting flight or mission-critical hardware Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable collaborating with machinists, assemblers, engineers, and quality personnel Ability to manage shifting priorities while maintaining inspection accuracy Familiarity with digital quality systems and inspection documentation All employees are granted long-term stock incentives as part of their employment as Castelion.
