Locums - Quincy, Illinois - OB/GYN Job

Clinical Role:

• Seeking a board certified OB/GYN physician

• Active Illinois medical license required

• Coverage dates:

  • November 20-23: 7:00 AM on November 20 through 7:00 AM on November 23

  • December 24-28: 7:00 AM on December 24 through 7:00 AM on December 28

• Additional dates coming soon; ongoing coverage anticipated due to an upcoming provider retirement

• Clinic plus 24-hour call coverage

• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

• Light office coverage primarily consisting of return OB visits, approximately 8-12 patients per schedule

• No office coverage on Saturdays or Sundays

• Call coverage: 7:00 AM-7:00 AM

• Offsite call permitted , provided the physician remains within an appropriate response distance

• Average admissions while on call: 3

• Responsibilities include:

  • Rounding on admitted patients as needed, including weekend morning rounds

  • Labor and delivery coverage as needed

  • Managing calls and consultations

  • Providing acute GYN coverage

  • Performing emergent or urgent GYN procedures for practice patients presenting through the ER or inpatient units

• Primary OB physicians may cover their own patients, particularly during office hours; overnight coverage is less likely

• OB hospitalist support available for OBED coverage and first assistance with cesarean sections

• EMR: Epic

• Credentialing requirements within the previous 24 months:

  • 25 GYN surgical procedures, including at least 5 major surgical procedures

  • 30 deliveries, including at least 10 cesarean sections
