Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, which focus on superior quality care, patient and employee safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information during team conferences and maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and assist with direct patient care following the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission, including patient education related to discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to facilitate continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
• Maintain open communication with management regarding service needs.
• Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific to designated locations).
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
