Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a variety of assessment tools and techniques.
- Design tailored treatment plans aimed at fulfilling patients' immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on various aspects of communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functionality.
- Work synergistically with physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, caregivers, and families to cultivate comprehensive treatment strategies.
- Educate patients and families to ensure continued progress outside of formal therapy settings.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions that guarantee continuous patient care throughout their healing journey.
- Document all findings and progress in compliance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and peer learning to stay ahead in your field.
Educational Background
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Licensure and Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
