Hotel IC - Los Angeles Downtown (LAXHC), 900 Wilshire Boulevard, 90017 Position Summary Front Desk Supervisor Lead and supervise the front desk team, ensuring timely and professional check‑in/check‑out services in accordance with established scripting and standards. Manage cash and credit card transactions, promote teamwork, respond to guest complaints, and coordinate with other departments. Responsibilities Up‑sell rooms to maximize hotel revenue. Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions, including posting charges, completing cashier reports, preparing deposits and securing the assigned bank. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments. Respond to guest complaints and perform service recovery gestures per guidelines. Check guests in/out, answer phones, take reservations, and assist staff with job functions; issue safe‑deposit boxes and ensure security of keys. Promote hotel services, facilities and outlets; provide guests with local attractions and directions. Assist in supervising the front desk function; ensure staff is properly trained on service expectations, hotel facilities and services, local directions, reservation systems, safety and emergency procedures. Monitor performance and recommend corrective or disciplinary action; alert management to serious issues. Complete opening and closing shift duties, communicating outstanding guest requests or issues to management. Perform other duties as assigned such as guest room tours, concierge services and special guest requests. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent plus one year front office/guest relations experience, including supervisory training. Preferred: some college education. Fluent English required; other languages preferred. Physical Demands Frequently standing behind the desk and front office areas. Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Handling objects, products and computer equipment. Using a keyboard to operate reservation and management systems. Other Requirements Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and employees. Reading and writing abilities are used often. Basic mathematics skills are used frequently. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Compensation & Benefits The hourly pay range for this role is $27.95 to $34.94. This range applies to jobs performed in Los Angeles, California. Pay may vary based on education, experience, skill, seniority, location, performance, shift, travel, and business needs.
