Property and Casualty Claims Associate Advocate

The Opportunity The Associate Claims Advocate provides administrative support to the Property & Casualty Claims Team, technical expertise and advocacy to clients on all claim‑related matters. Responsibilities Assist clients in reporting new claims to the carrier within the time period as set by company standard. Contact carrier claims department within 24 hours of reporting all new claims to identify claim number and ensure adjuster assigned to loss. Regularly contact adjusters to monitor status of claims and update relevant parties. Assist Claims Team members with incoming and outgoing claims documentation. Assist Claims Team members in preparing claim review requests. Proactively communicate with clients, carriers and vendors. Under supervision, directly communicate with clients to advocate clients’ interest in all claims matters. Maintain accurate and organized claim files by documenting claim statuses, updating all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems, and ensuring data accuracy. Navigate various carrier databases. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School or GED. 1‑2 years of insurance industry work experience or equivalent combination of education & experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Effective and professional oral and written communication with internal and external customers. Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry. Ability to respond to customer needs, solicit feedback to improve service, and handle difficult / emotional customer situations promptly and accurately. Confidence and demeanor to interact with all levels within the organization. Ability to efficiently gather information, analyze and solve problems timely and thoroughly. Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Critical thinking: use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Primarily stationary throughout the workday. Frequent communication with colleagues and clients in person and by telephone. Constant operation of a computer and other office machinery. Occasional movement to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Benefits & Compensation The expected salary range for this position is $24.00–$28.00 per hour and may be impacted by the candidate’s skills, experience and location.
