Software Quality Assurance Manager

Relate Search has partnered with a growing surgical robotics and medical imaging organization to identify a hands‑on Software QA Manager to serve as the technical cornerstone of their quality organization in the medical systems space. This role will lead end-to-end Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies for life‑critical software, manage technical deliverables across internal teams and external suppliers, and oversee high‑stakes root cause investigations. You will also establish and manage remote and hardware‑in‑the-loop testing labs while driving automation and AI‑enabled QA processes. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end Verification & Validation (V&V) strategy for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), including designing complex validation protocols. Develop and implement risk‑based testing frameworks that balance clinical safety with high‑velocity release cycles. Establish and manage remote and hardware‑in‑the-loop (HIL) testing infrastructure for the QA team. Manage QA oversight for internal teams and external software suppliers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality requirements. Lead technical investigations into post‑market complaints and collaborate on cybersecurity and CVE impact assessments. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in Software QA with full SDLC leadership, including at least 3 years in MedTech or medical device technology. Hands‑on experience with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 compliant quality management systems. Experience managing manual and automated testing frameworks, including remote lab setup and hardware‑in‑the-loop environments. Proficiency in statistical validation methods, root cause analysis, and modern automation testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium). Benefits Competitive compensation and bonus structure.
