Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
• Work holidays in rotation schedule with permanent staff
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Must have experience titrating drips including cardiac medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg)
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Care for cardiac patients including CR bands, post-catheterization, AMI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI patients
• Float to any Medical/Surgical or Telemetry units as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required with no false nails policy
• Use EPIC charting system
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Charge nurse available 24/7 (days charge does not take patients, nights charge takes patients)
• CNA support available with ideally 1 CNA per 12 patients
• RT manages CPAP and BiPAP equipment

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 29-bed cardiac/telemetry stepdown unit providing specialized care for patients with cardiac conditions and those requiring continuous monitoring. The facility maintains a Level 2 trauma designation and offers comprehensive acute care services. The unit focuses on caring for patients who require a higher level of monitoring than general medical units but do not need intensive care, featuring advanced cardiac monitoring technology and specialized nursing care for complex cardiac cases.
