Senior Staff Accountant

Overview Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. This is a direct-hire opportunity in which the ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting and/or publicly traded company accounting, experience with SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q), financial reporting, audit support, and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities. Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Assist with the preparation and review of SEC filings, including: Form 10-K Form 10-Q 8-K filings Supporting schedules and disclosures Participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis. Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide recommendations to management. Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries. Assist with SOX compliance initiatives, internal controls testing, and process improvements. Coordinate with cross-functional departments including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations. Research and document technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with accounting standards and SEC requirements. Develop and improve accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy. Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for complex accounting transactions. Support special projects, system implementations, and process automation initiatives as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 6+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience within a publicly traded company and/or public accounting firm serving public company clients. Hands-on experience preparing or supporting SEC filings, including 10-K and 10-Q reports. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience supporting internal and external audits. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
