Qualified Police Officer Lateral Applicants

The City of Buena Park Police Department is seeking qualified police officer lateral applicants. This position is open to candidates who have a California Basic P.O.S.T. certificate and one year experience working as a police officer with a California law enforcement agency. Police officer salary up to $137,467 annually, with a 5% salary increase effective July 4, 2026 and a $12,000 signing bonus. Successful police officer lateral candidates will be paid $4,000 of the signing bonus at the time of hire, $4,000 after completion of a field training program and 12-month probationary period, and $4,000 at the completion of a second year of service.
