Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsible for ensuring patient safety, supporting surgical staff, and maintaining sterile environments during operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient health status and review medical histories prior to surgery.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist during surgeries by passing instruments and monitoring patient vital signs.
• Educate patients about pre- and post-operative care instructions.
• Document procedures and patient responses accurately in medical records.
• Maintain flexibility to support intermittent on-call and weekend coverage as required.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with experience in operating room nursing.
• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
• Ability to respond promptly to emergent situations in the OR.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Capable of working on an intermittent on-call basis, including weekends.
• Credentialing in perioperative nursing preferred.
