Job Description
Job Title: CT Tech

Hours per Shift: Saturday & Sunday 8:30 am - 7:00 pm
Experience: Minimum 1 year in Radiology, less than 1 year in CT preferred
License: ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography
Certifications: ARRT-CT - ARRT Computed Tomography, BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor

Description:
Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.
Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative.
Responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams according to established procedures.
Knowledgeable and skilled in obtaining quality diagnostic studies.
Performs a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
Sets up equipment to provide imaging services and positions patients for procedures.
Verifies proper clinician order for procedures and obtains complete clinical history.
Assesses for contraindicating conditions and ensures patient identification.
Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media to prevent patient issues.
Ensures all studies have proper identification and markers are utilized appropriately.
Reviews and evaluates CT and radiographic images for clinically acceptable results.
Responds to emergency situations and assists with the restocking of necessary emergency equipment.
Observes patient condition and evaluates the need for physician intervention.
Maintains patient privacy and comfort during exams.
Demonstrates competence in applying appropriate procedures and techniques based on patient age.
Organizes schedule and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames.
Communicates clearly with patients and families, addressing questions and concerns.
Participates in the orientation and training of employees in the department.
Ensures required documentation is thorough and legible.
Consistently produces acceptable images as evidenced by feedback and audits.
Checks equipment for proper calibration and operational deficiencies before use.
Restocks linens and supplies, maintaining a clean and orderly department.
Transports and positions patients, assisting them on and off procedure tables.
Maintains compliance with all standards and participates in quality control measures.
Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others and performs supportive duties as needed.
Takes call when necessary and performs other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates understanding of anatomy and pathology as it relates to quality procedures.
Capable of performing all recommended Quality Control tests.
