Summary

This on-site, paid internship is located in Hermitage, PA, offering hands-on experience and will support the operations team in analyzing, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes. This position will provide input in process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluating existing production processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to process performance (scrap, cycle time, throughput, downtime, etc.)
• Participate in continuous improvement projects (Inventory Accuracy, Quality Programs, Process Flow Projects)
• Help develop and update process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
• Participate in weekly quality meetings
• Create process flow diagrams, charts, and other materials to assist with manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams
• Observe and support manufacturing floor activities to gain practical experience
• Perform other related tasks and projects as assigned by General Manager
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Process, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical) preferred, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness to learn and take initiative

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and observe operations on the manufacturing floor. Ability to lift up to [30] pounds as required. Use of standard office and manufacturing equipment.

Working Conditions

• Must wear all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe shoes, gloves, etc.) while out on the production floor
• Loud environment
• May occasionally be partially exposed to outside weather elements
• May be exposed to dust or other contaminants
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Concrete floors

Compensation and Schedule

• Paid Internship $20 per hour
• 25-30 hours per week based on student availability
• Will work around school schedule
• On-site in Hermitage, PA
