Description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Behavioral Health unit within a skilled nursing facility, requiring NY license, 2 years of experience, and EPIC charting experience (license required if applicable).

Details

• Locked skilled nursing facility unit specializing in Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, and Parkinson's exhibiting aggressive behaviors
• 20-bed unit with private rooms, average daily census of 20
• Patient ratio of 1:20 for both weekdays and weekends
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 14:00-22:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required per facility need
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Current NY LPN/LVN license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Skilled Nursing Facility/Nursing Home and locked unit experience required
• Behavior management techniques and Managing Assaultive Behavior skills required
• De-escalation protocols experience required
• Blood glucose monitoring/testing, intake and output monitoring, isolation precautions, specimen labeling, and vital sign monitoring skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide care for residents with unpredictable aggressive behaviors due to Alzheimer's, dementia, and related neurobehavioral diagnoses
• Focus on behavioral stabilization, medication management, development of daily routines, and discharge planning
• Program excludes residents requiring oxygen/tubing, IV therapy, feeding tubes, lines/ports/drains, insulin pumps, catheters, or nephrostomy tubes due to safety considerations
• First-week orientation held during day shift
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Previous employees eligible to return after 6 months, system wide
• Cannot have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO) at submission
