The University of Washington Medical Center Northwest Social Work and Care Coordination and Utilization Management Department has an outstanding opportunity for an Administrative Assistant.

Position Highlights

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical duties in support of the Social Work and Care Coordination and Utilization Management Departments.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Provide clerical support for Social Work and Care Coordination and Utilization Management Departments by answering phones, managing voicemail, and responding to questions from patients, families, and community.
• Communicate new patient information to appropriate personnel.
• Set up and maintain departmental files related to HR requirements, correspondence, reports, memos, etc.
• Inventory departmental supplies and stocks as necessary. Prepare and submit requisitions, purchase orders, both routine and special orders.
• Complete access requests and clerical tasks for onboarding new employees to the department.
• Attend staff meetings, take and distribute minutes.
• Open, as appropriate, and distribute incoming mail.

Required Position Qualifications

• High school diploma, college courses preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years administrative/secretarial experience is required, preferably in a health care setting.
• Writing/typing skills required, computer skills and training required, including word processing/spread sheet experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle a fluctuating workload.
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff, physicians, patients, families and community.
