General Diagnostic Technologists perform radiography of the entire body. Procedures performed include Cholangiography, Lumbar and Thoracic Myelography, Gastrointestinal Studies, Intravenous Pyelograms, Arteriography, Operative Cholangiography, and Arthrography. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers success as if it is their own./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliPerforms radiography of the entire body/liliProcedures performed include, Cholangiography, Lumbar and Thoracic Myelography, Gastrointestinal Studies, Intravenous Pyelograms, Arteriography, Operative Cholangiography and Arthrography/liliSets up radiographic suites and ensures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available/liliPrepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently; as required by procedure or patients condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate) and reports any significant changes to a radiologist/liliLifts, positions, pushes and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed/liliPerforms related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports/liliAs required, maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliEnglish language proficiency/liliARRT(R) certified (required)/liliGraduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiologic Technologists (JRCERT) program, and have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience/liliNote - Student internship and training time spent in a radiology setting does not count toward the two (2) years of experience/liliExperience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), experience with Agfa PACS is preferred but not required/liliAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required/liliNo sponsorship available/li/ulpAll candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist. Lift up to 20 lbs. Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
