Schlesinger's Steakhouse is looking for a professional, personable Host to join our team in Newport News!
As Newport News' premier chophouse, we're known for exceptional steaks, seafood, and service. Our Host is an important part of that experience — you're the first and last impression our guests have.
What You'll Do
- Welcome every guest with a genuine smile and warm hospitality
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating efficiently
- Answer phones and assist guests with questions and requests
- Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and the rest of the team
- Keep the host stand clean, organized, and guest-ready
- Help manage the flow of the dining room during busy services
- Handle guest interactions with confidence, professionalism, and grace
- Maintain a polished appearance appropriate for an upscale steakhouse
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Outgoing, friendly, and naturally personable
- Confident and comfortable talking with guests
- Polished and professional without being stuffy
- Organized and able to multitask
- Calm and composed when the restaurant gets busy
- A strong communicator and dependable team player
- Positive, upbeat, and genuinely enjoys hospitality
- Available for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous hosting, upscale dining, or customer-service experience is a plus
