Salary: $75,000–$80,000 based on experience
Work arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote)

We're looking for an experienced HR Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being at the center of day-to-day HR operations. This role supports the entire employee experience—from onboarding and employee changes to answering HR questions, processing paperwork, and ensuring payroll and personnel records are accurate.

You'll be the go-to resource for employees and leaders, managing a high volume of requests, maintaining compliance, pulling HR data and reports to support business decisions, and creating clear employee communications. Success in this role requires strong organization, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing demands while working independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Employee Service Delivery: Respond to employee requests (benefits questions, policy clarification, documentation needs), process related paperwork, and serve as a trusted point of contact for HR support across the organization.
• Data & Reporting: Pull, analyze, and organize HR data to support decision-making; create dashboards and reports on metrics including headcount, turnover, hiring velocity, and compliance status; identify patterns and recommend process improvements.
• Document Management: Maintain accuracy and organization of employee files (both digital and physical); ensure timely processing of onboarding, offboarding, and status change documentation; manage compliance documentation (ADA interactive process files, FMLA tracking, certification storage).
• HRIS Administration: Manage day-to-day Paylocity functions including employee record updates, benefits administration coordination, policy group maintenance, and system troubleshooting; serve as internal Paylocity expert for staff questions.
• HR Communications: Draft and design employee-facing communications including policy updates, benefits information, company announcements, and onboarding materials; ensure messaging is clear, compliant, and on-brand.
• Compliance & Accuracy: Stay current on employment law changes relevant to our operating states; audit processes for compliance; maintain attention to detail in all HR work.

18–24 months: Promotion to HR People Operations Manager

• Lead HR operations strategy across our organization—designing scalable processes as we grow
• Manage HR team members —mentoring junior staff and building the operational infrastructure
• Partner with executive leadership on people strategy, retention initiatives, and organizational design
• Own HRIS platform strategy —evaluating technology, managing vendors, optimizing systems
• Generate strategic intelligence from HR data—identifying trends, retention risks, and opportunities that inform business decisions
• Scale compliance and process architecture across multi-location, multi-state environments

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR generalist, HR coordinator, or HR operations experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (preferably multi-location health care or startup).
• Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts, and reporting, with strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
• HRIS experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience with at least one major HRIS platform ( Paylocity experience strongly preferred ).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate HR concepts for diverse audiences.
• Document management discipline: Meticulous attention to detail ; ability to manage complex filing systems and ensure data integrity.
• Project coordination: Ability to manage multiple concurrent requests and shifting priorities without losing track of deadlines.
• HR process knowledge: Solid understanding of core HR areas including employee onboarding/offboarding, benefits, FMLA, ADA, employee relations, and recruitment.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent HR experience in lieu of degree).

• HR data is current, organized, and ready for leadership decision-making; reports are produced on schedule and surface actionable insights.

• Onboarding and offboarding processes run smoothly with minimal supervision; new hires and departing employees experience a professional, organized experience.
• HR processes are documented and continuously refined; bottlenecks are surfaced early and solved proactively.
