Eligibility SpecialistNote: This posting is limited to current eligibility specialists who have at least 24 months experience determining eligibility for public assistance benefits in Minnesota, or who have been out of the position less than 12 months and have at least 24 months experience determining eligibility for public assistance benefits in Minnesota within the last 3 years. This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.Current vacancies are in the Child Care Assistance Program and Maxis Healthcare ABD areas.Job responsibilities include determining eligibility and performing ongoing case management for Public Assistance Programs in Maxis and MEC2. Maxis MA health care programs including MA with waivers and MA with Long-Term Care. CCAP programs include MFIP/TY/BSF. Eligibility Specialists process incoming verifications, make determinations, and provide referrals for other services if appropriate. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.Anticipated Hiring Range: $28.62 - $39.00 HourlyE-Verify Participation: Washington County participates in the federal E-Verify program. Employers may not use E-Verify to pre-screen job applicants and may not limit or influence the choice of documents you present for use on the Form I-9.Minimum Qualifications (General): High School diploma (or equivalency) and two years of paid work experience in a Social Services or Human Services agency; or completion of at least two years of post-secondary education and one year of paid work experience in a Social Services or Human Services agency; or completion of the Minnesota State College Public Welfare Financial Worker or Human Services program.Minimum Qualifications (Veterans Services): High School diploma (or equivalency) and two years of paid work experience in a Veterans Services or Human Services agency; or completion of at least two years of post-secondary education and one year of paid work experience in a Veterans Services or Human Services agency; or completion of the Minnesota State College Public Welfare Financial Worker or Human Services program. In addition, certain qualifications are set forth in Minnesota Statutes including, residence in the State of Minnesota; citizenship of the United States; and being a veteran as defined in section 197.447. Continuous contact with the public, other staff and other agencies. Lifting requirement of 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Wrist and finger manipulation due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Equipment used will include computer, typewriter, calculator, telephone, copy/fax machine and others. Exposures may include but be not limited to disagreeable odors, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, difficult and challenging behaviors.
