Position: General Foreman The General Foreman is responsible for managing labor, materials, and production for electrical construction projects. The role provides technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment, collaborates with general contractors and customers, and ensures work meets Rosendin standards and project specifications. Responsibilities Supervise all field production activities and assist the Foreman in planning the job. Order materials and manpower as needed. Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to establish project goals and monitor progress. Review labor efficiencies, hours, and ratios. Project labor needs and monitor codes, specifications, and installation methods. Prepare, review, distribute, and maintain installation documentation. Provide leadership and guidance to Foremen. Track and monitor material costs, storage, consumption, and ordering to minimize cost overruns. Achieve productivity objectives by effectively managing and assigning tasks to crew members. Maintain accurate labor tracking logs and communicate with project personnel. Anticipate and resolve potential issues proactively. Ensure proper safety equipment, materials, and tools are onsite. Maintain complete and accurate “as-builts” per Rosendin procedures. Communicate effectively with owners, architects, general contractors, management, and crew. Adhere to contract document changes and Rosendin change order policies. Follow all Rosendin, state, and federal safety policies and procedures. Ensure all work meets NEC, federal, state, county, and local codes and contract documents. Qualifications State-issued electrical license where required. 5+ years of electrical experience; 3–5 years as an Electrical Foreman/General Foreman. Advanced skills reading and interpreting electrical plans and specifications. In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes. Track record of successful project leadership and sub‑foreman management. Ability to manage private or public sector electrical construction projects, including new construction and tenant improvements. Solid understanding of electrical codes and installation methods. Experience with power systems: lighting, fire protection, security, and data networks. Knowledge of control panel build, installation, and maintenance. Proficiency with electrical single‑line blueprints. Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations. Skill in identifying and repairing faults in electrical apparatus and circuits. Proficient in ordering and tracking materials, cost projections, and developing “as‑builts.” Strong knowledge of scheduling, material lead times, product knowledge, and installation durations. Walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Maintaining standing positions for long periods during repetitive actions. Lift 50lbs. from the ground and pull 50lbs. of force. Use of feet, legs, hands, and arms for climbing or balancing on scaffolding or ladders. Manipulate cables, wires, and tools with hands and fingers. Work off ladders, man lifts, or reach booms without fear of heights. Adequate vision for distinguishing color‑coded wires and peripheral vision. Work Environment Exposure to various weather conditions (cold, snow, rain, heat). High noise levels and occasional cramped or dirty conditions. Risk of electrical shock and other site accidents. Standard 40‑hour workweek; overtime, nights, or weekends may be required.
