Clinical Psychologist

The Clinical Psychologist position involves conducting psychological evaluations, consultation, and providing clinical supervision to doctoral-level practicum students and postdoctoral trainees. The Clinical Psychologist provides psychotherapy to a limited caseload and works in collaboration with the behavioral health team to provide holistic care to children, adolescents, and adults.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / SUPERVISORY

• Conduct thorough clinical interviews and assessments to evaluate psychological functioning and determine diagnoses.
• Administer and interpret standardized psychological tests and diagnostic tools (e.g., MMPI, WAIS, Rorschach, Woodcock-Johnson etc.).
• Develop a library of tesing instruments to assess the presence of psychological, emotional, behavioral and learning disorders for children, adolescents and adults.
• Prepare evaluation reports for children and adolescents to support school accommodations, Section 504 and/or Individualized Education Plan (IEP) needs.

Psychotherapy Services

• Provides evidence-based individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults presenting with complex behavioral health needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate psychological assessment findings into ongoing care.
• Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive interventions using evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Coordinate with therapists, psychiatric prescribers, care coordinators, and primary care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide crisis assessment and stabilization interventions as clinically indicated.
• Maintains a limited caseload of 6-12 clients, based on volume of testing/assessments.

Collaboration & Coordination of Care

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.
• Participate in case consultations and contribute insights regarding treatment planning and progress.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and families to develop an understanding of testing results and subsequent treatment and adaptations as needed.
• Collaborate with universities and college doctoral level programs to establish linkages for doctoral level student practicums, internships and postgraduate training.

Documentation & Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including assessment reports, progress notes, and treatment plans, in compliance with organizational policies and legal standards.
• Operate all documentation within OCHIN EPIC medical records system.
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information in adherence to HIPAA regulations and ethical guidelines.
• Maintain a spreadsheet of data related to psychological assessment and evaluation for established clients in the DBH.

Professional Development & Training

• Stay current with the latest research and best practices in clinical psychology and mental health treatment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and supervision sessions.
• Provide supervision to doctoral-level practicum students, interns, and postgraduate trainees.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

• Education and Experience:
• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
• Must be licensed to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in Wisconsin.
• Five plus years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, with a strong foundation in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions.
• In-depth knowledge of psychological testing as it relates to psychodynamics, interpersonal functioning, educational ability, ADHD, and special needs.
• Experience working with [specific populations, e.g., children, adults, families, trauma survivors] preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of psychological theories, diagnostic tools, and evidence-based treatment methods.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledgeable of models of clinical supervision and experience providing clinical supervision to doctoral students and masters level clinicians.
• Crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage complex clinical cases.
• Familiarity with legal and ethical guidelines in the field of psychology.
• Competence in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to client care.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations while maintaining professional boundaries and self-care.
• Commitment to cultural competency and working with diverse populations.

Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Work is performed in an office environment utilizing various office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line phone. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, by computer and in person. Ability to perform well in a fast paced work environment.
