Pay rate: $26/h

Location: Allen, TX
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) | Monday–Friday (Overtime as needed)

Contract type: Temp-to-Hire

Work mode: 100% Onsite

Position Overview

The Electronic Technician will work in a production electronics manufacturing environment diagnosing, testing, and repairing Digital Video Recorder (DVR) systems and related peripherals. This role requires the ability to work from schematics, technical drawings, inspection reports, engineering documentation, and verbal/written instructions to ensure accurate troubleshooting and repair of electronic assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic products down to sub-assembly and component level.
• Test and troubleshoot Mobile and Fixed Video systems using test stations and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform circuit analysis, fault isolation, and root cause determination.
• Repair and troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
• Work with analog and digital electronics, including microcontrollers, memories, and programmable devices (FPGAs).
• Use test equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, and other electronic diagnostic tools.
• Interpret schematics, engineering drawings, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
• Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety practices during all repair and testing activities.
• Work with MAC IDs, IP addresses, and basic networking concepts as part of system diagnostics.
• Ensure high-quality, repeatable, and reliable repair work.
• Support production deadlines and management requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and customer service teams as needed.
• Work effectively with limited supervision in a production environment.

Work Environment & Conditions

• Production/manufacturing environment
• Electronics testing and repair lab setting
• Must be able to handle light lifting (5–10 lbs)
• Training period: Approximately 2 weeks before working independently

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years experience in electronic troubleshooting/repair (PCBAs preferred)
• Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics
• Experience with circuit analysis and fault isolation
• Familiarity with modern digital electronic systems and components
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented production environment
• Ability to work independently after training
