Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN for a 12-hour night shift travel contract requiring a BSN, IL RN license, and at least 1 year of direct ER experience.

Details

• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• General Emergency Department caring for combined adult/pediatric patients
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic charting system experience required
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• Rare floating to other units or facilities within the health system may be required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand required (no emergency or pending licenses accepted)
• BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of direct ER experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
• PALS certification required
• CPI, NIHSS, NRP, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Skills checklist and 2 references required for consideration, with one reference from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a range of patient presentations including psychiatric, pediatric, respiratory, neurological, and trauma cases
• Perform triage, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified
• Prior Northwestern Medicine employment history must be disclosed if applicable
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot be added after consideration
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Non-licensed direct patient caregivers not listed as 'Eligible' in the IL Healthcare Worker Registry must travel to Illinois for mandatory in-person fingerprinting prior to start
