About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: RN Medical/Surgical Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Cares for a diverse patient population. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. Supported by healthcare assistants and a unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual monitoring and techs for telemetry patients available. Responsible for working up to six weekend shifts and holidays based on department needs.
