Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period. Holiday requirements will be based on departmental needs. This department serves adult patients and is capable of telemetry monitoring. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor technicians to monitor those on telemetry. NIH Stroke Scale certification is required.
