Contract Controller

Our client, a mid-size private manufacturing company in the Atlanta, GA area is seeking a Controller (Hybrid role) to oversee all aspects of the accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise, systems experience, and the ability to partner with senior leadership in a dynamic environment.

Ability to travel to Dallas, TX first week and recent & prior experience with SAGE Intacct ERP required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
• Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and support audit readiness
• Manage external audit process and serve as primary point of contact for auditors
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities
• Analyze financial results, including revenue, margins, and operational performance, to support decision-making
• Partner with operations and executive leadership to support strategic initiatives and business performance
• Develop and mentor accounting staff, building a high-performing finance team

Qualifications:

• SAGE Intacct ERP experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
• 7–15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering skills
