This instructor will create safe, effective, and enjoyable workouts that support strength, balance, mobility, and cardiovascular health while fostering a welcoming community environment for members. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping older adults stay active, independent, and socially connected through fitness.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes designed for active older adults.Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and exercise modifications to accommodate a variety of fitness levels and physical abilities.Incorporate exercises that improve strength, balance, mobility, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.Create a supportive and welcoming class atmosphere that encourages participation and community among members.Monitor participants throughout class to ensure proper technique and safety.Prepare structured class plans appropriate for the senior population.QualificationsCurrent nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent). CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required. Certification or specialization in Senior Fitness, Active Aging, SilverSneakers, or Functional Aging preferred. Previous experience teaching group fitness classes, especially with older adults. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong member-service mindset.Skills & CompetenciesKnowledge of functional fitness, balance training, and fall prevention. Ability to provide modifications for common conditions such as arthritis, joint limitations, and osteoporosis. Ability to motivate and connect with members in a positive and encouraging way. Strong focus on member experience and community building.
