Physician Assistant

Job Summary The Division of Pain Management at the University of Utah (UHealth) seeks a Physician Assistant to provide longitudinal pain management care for patients with chronic non-cancer pain, intrathecal pump management, cancer survivors, post‑operative subacute pain consults, and lidocaine/ketamine infusions. Experience in these areas is preferred, though training will be provided. Responsibilities Perform physical examinations and obtain medical histories to assess patients. Formulate medical plans and prognoses based on patient conditions. Consult with physicians regarding health plans and treatments. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests for clinical problems and care needs. Perform selected invasive procedures within scope of validated competence. Initiate or recommend medical drug therapies or related treatments in accordance with approved protocols. Maintain comprehensive, accurate documentation in medical records and legal documents. Participate in quality improvement activities. Counsel patients and families about health, illness, and health maintenance. Plan, implement, and re‑evaluate care for patients requiring emergency measures. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Position involves lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 100 lb and may expose staff to infectious diseases, prisoners, or behavioral health patients. Minimum Qualifications Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Utah. Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system (to be obtained within 30 days of hire). Preferred Qualifications Certification in ACLS, BLS, NRP, or ATLS, if required by department or privileging criteria. Benefits Access to UHealth health, dental, and vision plans.
