3H Equine Hospital is seeking an experienced Office & Business Manager to become a key member of our leadership team.

We are a well-established, independently owned equine veterinary practice in New Hill, NC. Our operation includes a busy veterinary hospital and ambulatory practice as well as equine rehabilitation, reproduction, quarantine, and farm operations.

This is not simply a receptionist or traditional office-manager position .

We are looking for someone who can help run the business.

The right individual will work closely with the practice owner and will be responsible for keeping the administrative, financial, and day-to-day business operations organized, accountable, and moving forward.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Overseeing the daily operation of the veterinary office
• Supervising and supporting our client- service/administrative team
• Helping manage veterinarian schedules and appointment flow
• Ensuring telephone calls, emails, client requests, and administrative tasks are handled appropriately
• Overseeing vendor relationships, inventory, and pharmaceutical ordering
• Ensuring laboratory reports and other medical information are properly processed and entered into patient records
• Monitoring accounts, expenses, collections, and other important financial metrics
• Preparing regular financial and operational reports for the practice owner
• Assisting with bookkeeping and working with our accounting/bookkeeping team
• Helping manage employees, workflow, accountability, and office policies
• Identifying problems before they become larger problems
• Creating better systems and procedures as the practice continues to evolve
• Serving as a dependable point person when the practice owner and veterinarians are focused on patient care

Who We Are Looking For

We are interested in someone who has spent several years working in a small or independently owned business and understands that in a smaller company, managers cannot simply say, “That isn't my department.”

Our ideal candidate has:

• Significant professional work experience, preferably including management responsibility
• Previous bookkeeping, accounting, financial-management, or QuickBooks experience
• Strong comfort working with numbers, reports, budgets, expenses, and business performance
• Experience supervising employees and holding people accountable

Veterinary experience is helpful but not required . Experience managing another healthcare practice, professional office, accounting/bookkeeping operation, construction company, family business, or other privately owned small business may be equally valuable.

Work Location

This is an on-site leadership position in New Hill, North Carolina. Remote work is not available for this role.
