Lab Operations - Engineer II - Client Technology

Engineer II provides advanced technical support for end-user technologies at Exelixis, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues while leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency. The role focuses on standardizing repeatable solutions, ensuring device security and compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable client technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and application issues with minimal business disruption
Proactively manage device security, compliance, and performance through coordinated upgrades and patches
Convert recurring incident patterns into structured runbooks and decision trees with risk classification
Provide technical training to support staff on troubleshooting validation and AI-assisted recommendation assessment
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and design solutions supporting specialized business use cases

Requirements

High school diploma with 9 years IT experience, or associate's degree with 7 years, or bachelor's degree with 5 years related experience
Advanced troubleshooting and client technology maintenance knowledge
Experience with administrative consoles and elevated system access
Scripting or automation tools proficiency
Agile environment and ticketing system experience (JIRA, JSM)
Ability to evaluate and validate AI-assisted diagnostic recommendations
Strong cross-functional communication and technical documentation skills

Compensation: $105,500 - $150,500 base annually
