Work Hours: Standard College hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Actual hours will be based on class schedules and the needs of the department.\n

General Summary: The Nursing Student Success & Retention Specialist supports student success, progression, retention, and NCLEX readiness within the Nursing Program. This position provides proactive academic support through early identification of at-risk students, individualized remediation planning, coaching, mentoring, data analysis, and collaboration with faculty. The Nursing Student Success & Retention Specialist serves as a key resource in the development, implementation, and evaluation of retention initiatives while utilizing assessment and performance data to improve student outcomes and program effectiveness.\n

Requirements: \n
\n
\n

\n
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with documented active pursuit of a master's degree in nursing.
\n
• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience. Experience in nursing education, academic support, student success, remediation, or retention initiatives preferred.
\n
• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license or multistate licensure privilege.
\n
• Ability to obtain and maintain ATI Proctor Certification and ATI Champion designation.
\n
• Proficiency with educational technology platforms and student success software

Student Support and Remediation \n
\n
\n

• Identify academically at-risk students through review of course performance, assessment data, standardized testing results, and faculty referrals.
\n
• Develop, implement, monitor, and document individualized remediation and student success plans.
\n
• Provide academic coaching, study skill development, test-taking strategies, and success planning.
\n

\n
\n
Data Tracking, Assessment, and Reporting \n
\n
\n

\n
• Collect, analyze, and interpret assessment and retention data as outlined in the Systematic Evaluation Plan and program action plans.
\n
• Collaborate with faculty to identify student performance trends, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
\n

\n
\n
Faculty Collaboration and Support \n
\n
\n

\n
• Collaborate with faculty regarding student progression concerns, remediation plans, and intervention strategies.
\n
• Provide guidance and support related to academic resource products, reports, assessment tools, and remediation resources.
\n

\n
\n
Student Orientation and Success Programming \n
\n
\n

\n
• Provide orientation regarding academic support products, learning management systems, assessments, remediation expectations, and available academic support resources.
\n
• Develop and facilitate workshops and support sessions focused on study skills, technology utilization, academic success, and NCLEX readiness.
\n

\n
\n
Compliance and Accommodations \n
\n
\n

\n
• Collaborate with faculty and Disability Resource Services to implement approved testing accommodations.
\n
• Ensure assessment and remediation practices comply with institutional policies, current best practices, accreditation expectations, and program standards.
\n

\n
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS \n

• Serve on nursing program committees as assigned.
\n
• Participate in professional development activities related to student success, retention, assessment, and nursing education.
\n
• Assist with special projects, accreditation activities, and program evaluation initiatives.
\n
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS \n
\n
\n

\n
• Work is primarily performed in an office, classroom, laboratory, and virtual environment.
\n
• Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, computer use, and communication with students and faculty.
\n
• Occasional travel between campuses may be required.
\n
• Must be able to conduct individual and group meetings in person and through virtual platforms.
\n
• Ability to move throughout campus facilities and access instructional environments.
\n
