Group Fitness Instructor – Water Aerobics Job Category : Parks & Rec-Community Center Requisition Number : GROUP002263 Posted : July 2, 2026 Position Type : Part‑time (Non‑exempt) Location : Eden Prairie Community Center, 16700 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55346, USA Details $26.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on qualifications Reports to Recreation Supervisor – Fitness Hours vary; may include evenings and weekends Responsibilities Lead group fitness classes in a variety of formats, ensuring members’ needs are met through personal recognition and quality service. Monitor well‑being of all participants throughout the exercise program. Serve as a professional leader in fitness and wellness, encouraging continued exercise and healthy choices. Ensure a safe and healthy environment by enforcing fitness facility policies, rules, and regulations. Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of fitness areas. Arrive well‑prepared: music cued, routine planned, ample time for setup and greeting participants before the class. Requirements Group exercise certification (ACE, NETA, AEA or equivalent) required; format‑specific certifications and First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required. Experience teaching group fitness classes, specifically Water Aerobics, required. Experience teaching a variety of group fitness classes preferred. Successful completion of the City’s pre‑employment evaluation, including reference checks, background check, and work verification. Skills Clear, concise communication; delivers messages effectively and writes clearly. Ability to perform and coordinate several activities simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and maintain orderly execution.
