Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, suspension, steering, and brake systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, air, and fuel systems
• Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs
• Complete engine, drivetrain, suspension, and chassis repairs
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed
• Maintain accurate repair orders and service records
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
• Work with shop management to prioritize repairs and minimize vehicle downtime

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy-duty truck repair experience required
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems
• Experience using diagnostic software and repair equipment
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus but not required)
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
