Description Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an Electronics Engineer – Level 3 in Gilbert, AZ. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The Space Systems Division Integration and Test group invites a qualified and diverse individual to design, develop, and execute test procedures and automated test scripts using spacecraft commands, telemetry, and electrical ground support equipment. The ideal candidate has system‑level test experience with spacecraft flight hardware, strong computer skills, and the ability to troubleshoot problems using electrical engineering knowledge. The role requires daily engagement with satellite and space flight hardware, independent problem‑solving, clear communication, and use of scripting languages to formulate automated test scripts. Shift and weekend work, including international travel to support launch campaigns, may be required. The position follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job Responsibilities General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks Understands NG test engineering practices and principles Understands both electrical circuits and software within the flight hardware and EGSE Supports EGSE and flight hardware test/troubleshooting efforts and can perform this tasking with little to no oversight from another electrical engineer Able to work independently to complete tasks and knows when to ask for help Fully grasps escalation plan when test errors are encountered and understands when to proceed per NG/program process; participates in anomaly resolution process while offering technical solutions for FRB approval Travel and support different shifts when required Works under general supervision Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned Follows established procedures Has technical insight and experience to know if test set‑up and results make sense Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects Ability to establish and maintain infrequent inter‑organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters Coordinates with ITEE team lead, electrical technicians, and I&T managers to complete tasking; may participate, prepare, and present material in program review boards (PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, FRBs, etc.) Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – or – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – or – PhD with 1 year of professional experience Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance, SCI access, and complete a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination prior to start Demonstrate ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion Demonstrate ability to learn and integrate new programming languages based on previous experience Preferred Qualifications Active DoD TS/SCI or higher security clearance with investigation in the last five (5) years Experience with any of the following Microsoft Visio, National Instruments LabView Experience with hardware or software testing and test scripting Experience in electronics troubleshooting, RF test configuration testing, environments testing (Vibration Analysis/Thermal Vacuum chamber testing) Experience in automated test equipment usage and troubleshooting Programming experience with any of the following languages: Python, C, C++ Experience in aerospace or defense industry (development or test) Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
