Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in trauma care and be prepared to work in a high-volume environment where a significant percentage of patients are admitted. This role is critical in providing high-quality care to patients in need of immediate medical attention.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, stabilization, and treatment for patients in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and IV treatments according to established protocols.
• Record patient information and communicate clinical findings effectively.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in the care of patients being held in the emergency department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department, with Level I Trauma experience preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and TNCC.
• Candidates with at least 1.5 years of experience may be considered.
• Travel experience is strongly preferred.
• Must have a valid license to practice as a registered nurse; pending licenses may be accepted.
• No local candidates will be considered within a 100-mile radius.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekend shifts as necessary. The standard shift length is 12 hours, with a requirement to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Additional Information

• Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years, with consideration for 1.5 years of experience.
• Patient nurse ratios are estimated at 1:5.
• Travelers may float to adult patient care units as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
• Guaranteed contracted hours per week, with provisions for schedule adjustments.

Requirements for Submissions

• All candidates must provide documentation for the TNCC certification prior to submission.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be pending until compliance documentation is due.
• COVID-19 vaccination status is optional but must be reported.
