QA Automation Engineer

Job Description

A client in Concord, CA is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join their team. Our client is seeking an SDET to build and own the company's quality engineering practice. This individual will establish automation frameworks, release processes, testing standards, and quality metrics across a growing suite of fundraising and payment-based applications. Initially, the role will consist of approximately 60% manual testing and 40% automation while comprehensive automated coverage is being built.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the QA automation framework from scratch

• Create end-to-end automated test coverage across multiple applications

• Build regression test suites for critical business workflows

• Automate testing for payment processing, donation flows, and transaction logic

• Develop and maintain API and UI automation suites

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

• Validate legacy-to-new platform migration efforts

• Execute manual testing for new features and releases

• Create quality metrics, reporting, and release readiness standards

• Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to improve software quality

• Serve as the primary owner of release validation and test strategy

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of QA Automation/SDET experience

• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch

• Strong coding and scripting skills

• Hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Cypress

• Node.js automation experience

• SQL proficiency for backend validation and troubleshooting

• API testing experience

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

• GitHub and Jira experience

• End-to-end and regression testing experience

• Ability to analyze requirements and convert them into automated test coverage • Payment processing or financial systems testing

• Stripe integrations

• AWS environments

• PostgreSQL

• Jenkins

• Experience serving as the sole or lead QA resource

• Experience supporting platform migrations and modernization initiatives
