Medical Assistant - Endocrinology

Responsibilities Assist with direct patient care and perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols Assist medical and/or nursing staff in examining and treating patients Room patients and measure and record height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration Complete patient interviews and histories Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures Assist with procedures ordered by physicians Assist in examinations, carry out treatments, and perform special tests Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples from patients Perform routine laboratory tests on patient samples Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR Military Medic training OR EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education Medical Assistant Certification preferred Ability to assist with direct patient care and routine specialized medical procedures Ability to room patients and measure and record vital signs Ability to complete patient interviews and histories Ability to prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments Ability to collect blood, urine, and sputum samples and perform routine laboratory tests Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in direct patient care, including vital sign measurement, patient preparation for examinations, and routine laboratory testing. Holds relevant medical assisting qualifications and certifications to support clinical procedures and patient interactions.
