This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to providing outstanding service and clinical excellence.The Medical Assistant will support 2-4 providers and play an essential role in both clinical and administrative workflows across our care centers.Important RequirementsMust be willing to work at all four Vera Whole Health care centers:PolarisDublinEastonWestervilleLocations are within approximately 20 minutes of one anotherWork location schedules are provided 3-4 weeks in advance1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience requiredMust have experience with:Phlebotomy/lab drawsInjections and immunizationsCustomer serviceReliable attendance is essentialComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple providersKey ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and complete intake proceduresObtain and document manual vital signs in the EMRAssist providers during examinations and office-based proceduresAdminister immunizations, injections, and oral medicationsPerform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for laboratory testingProcess labs, swabs, and other patient samplesObserve and document patient responses to treatments and proceduresProvide patient education and support preventive care initiativesTrack referrals, preventive care needs, and follow-up itemsConduct patient outreach related to referrals, care gaps, and records requestsManage provider inboxes and patient communicationsComplete prior authorizations and required documentationMake outgoing calls to patients regarding appointments, referrals, and follow-up careDocument accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR)Assist with appointment scheduling and patient registration as neededManage patient flow throughout the care centerPrepare exam and procedure rooms using sterile and aseptic techniquesMaintain inventory and restock clinical suppliesSupport front desk operations and answer multi-line phones when neededServe as a professional representative of Vera Whole HealthMaintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentialityFollow OSHA, CLIA, infection prevention, and safety guidelinesComplete quality assurance controls and documentation requirementsParticipate in quality improvement initiativesParticipate in team meetings and daily huddlesCollaborate with providers and clinic staff to achieve patient care goalsSupport onboarding, training, and competency activities as neededPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications1-2 years of Medical Assistant experienceExperience performing phlebotomy/lab drawsExperience administering injections and immunizationsExperience working in an EMR systemExcellent customer service and communication skillsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesReliable transportation and flexibility to work at all four locationsMust provide proof of a negative/cleared TB test completed within the past 12 monthsExperience in primary care, family medicine, or value-based care environmentsExperience with prior authorizations and referral managementKnowledge of sterilization, autoclaving, and infection-control practicesBenefitsMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k)Paid Time Off (PTO)13 Paid HolidaysWhy Vera Whole Health?At Vera Whole Health, we are committed to transforming healthcare through patient-centered care, strong provider relationships, and a collaborative team culture.
