NurseConducting patient assessments over the phone by asking detailed questions about symptoms & medical historyUtilizing critical thinking skills to determine the appropriate level of care medicationsAccurately documenting all patient interactions including symptoms, advice given, and follow up plans in the electronic medical recordSchedules patients for further testing as directed by thoroughly documents vital signs, chief complaintUpdates medication lists, and verifies allergiesUpdates the patient's medical and social history, as appropriatePrepares patient for examination and assists as necessaryEnsure that ordered tests results are in the patient record and available for Practitioner review at time of patient examinationAssures adequate patient records are maintained and transferred as requestedObtains consent for procedures as directedCollects lab specimens and prepares specimens for transport according to policyAssists provider in procedures including but not limited to dressing changes, pelvic exams, laceration repairs, injections, and aspirationsUtilizes appropriate aseptic techniqueCleans instruments and prepares them for sterilization according to policyMaintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and current clinical conditionFollows the five rights of medication administration to buckets in the EMRClinic Responsibilities-Float NurseEnsures that exam rooms and patient accessible areas are safe and that likelihood of patient injury is reducedAssures that examination rooms are always full and that patients are seen in an orderly and fair mannerEnsure that acutely ill or injured patients are triaged and seen firstExplains delays and waiting times to patients and proceduresPerforms quality controls for tests and documents results as per policyMonitors and records oxygen tanks monthlyChecks AED monthly. Records activityPerforms API QC during the year on all tests resulted at siteChecks for outdates on supplies and medications on an ongoing basisInventories medications upon receiving and disposing. Inventories, orders and manages the VFC medicationsDocuments accordinglyParticipates in professional development and assumes responsibility for keeping knowledge of skills currentOffice ResponsibilitiesAnswers telephone calls in a professional manner and refers patient problems to PractitionerInteract professionally with patients and families.
