Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment End Date: March 1, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Coverage: Rotating weekends, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday coverage
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday rotation
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Department Volume: Approximately 70 patient visits per day with 19 treatment rooms
• Additional Scheduling Details: Travelers may float as needed

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience with both adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years
• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or Compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Successful completion of a telemetry examination before the start of the assignment
• Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, including lethal rhythms and recognition of third-degree heart block
• Ability to work a rotating weekend and holiday schedule
• Applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the assignment location; local candidates are not eligible
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred

Travel Emergency Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid triage, focused assessments, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring based on patient acuity
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Interpret 12-lead ECGs and cardiac rhythms and promptly escalate significant findings
• Initiate and maintain IV access, administer medications and blood products, and manage continuous IV sedation as indicated
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP and CPAP therapies
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation in accordance with department protocols
• Perform or assist with phlebotomy, arterial blood gas interpretation, central line care, and other emergency procedures
• Use appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment
• Collaborate with respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, interpretation services, and other members of the care team
• Complete accurate electronic documentation and maintain strong barcode medication scanning compliance
• Participate in bedside shift reporting, AIDET communication, and hourly rounding
• Float to other areas as needed while maintaining quality, safety, and patient-centered care standards
