Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Assignment Dates: November 30, 2026–March 1, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Rotation: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday coverage as scheduled; every-other-holiday rotation
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Department Volume: Approximately 70 patient visits per day
• Charting: Cerner experience preferred
• Work Environment: On-site emergency department; floating may be required as needed

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience within the last 3 years, including experience with both adult and pediatric populations
• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Strong telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Ability to successfully complete a telemetry assessment before starting the assignment
• Experience providing emergency care across the lifespan, including pediatric and high-acuity patients
• Ability to float as needed and adapt to a changing emergency department environment
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications are valued
• Previous charge nurse experience and travel nursing experience are preferred

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and timely emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid patient assessment and triage, identify changes in patient condition, and prioritize care appropriately
• Care for patients with common emergency department diagnoses, trauma presentations, multisystem organ dysfunction, and other high-acuity conditions
• Monitor and manage patients requiring continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, and central-line care
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases and obtain 12-lead EKGs/ECGs
• Administer blood products, medications, and procedural sedation according to established protocols
• Start and maintain IV access, perform phlebotomy, and support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Collaborate with respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
• Complete bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and patient and family communication using established service standards
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and follow isolation, PPE, barcode scanning, and patient-safety procedures
