Battery Repairperson

Amentum is seeking a Battery Repairperson to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada, supporting the Hawthorne Army Depot. Key Responsibilities Inspect, test, rebuild, and overhaul storage batteries used in material handling equipment and air monitoring equipment. Diagnose, repair, and maintain batteries for various equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance (PMs) on batteries. Test batteries for defects and efficiency. Use and maintain all tools and equipment needed to perform tasks when properly qualified and authorized by supervision. Assist the tire repairman, heavy equipment and auto vehicle mechanics, and the electromotive mechanic as necessary. Work in close proximity to or within a chemical/munition demilitarization facility. Report actual and potential safety and environmental concerns. Perform work safely and in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. May be required to work overtime. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum six months of direct battery repair experience or one year of automotive maintenance experience. Ability to use all basic battery equipment and safely and efficiently change high‑voltage battery cables. Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Ability to maintain battery levels and work with little supervision. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy; ability to operate a computerized terminal and common office software. Valid state driver’s license and pass an MVR check. Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Fitness‑for‑duty standards to perform essential functions, including any HWAD drill, contingency, or emergency requirement. Must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam, respiratory screening, and maintain personnel certification. Safety & Security This safety‑sensitive position is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program.
