Job Description Information Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor II Position Type: Fulltime FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt Department: Maintenance Location: Columbia, MO Business Unit: JBS Prepared Foods Years of Experience: 3+ years of maintenance experience at a CPG company Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor II will direct plant maintenance activities at a state‑of‑the‑art, 200,000+ square‑foot Italian Meats manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include providing direction to plant personnel to ensure employee safety, product safety and quality, compliance with production schedules, and managing all maintenance costs for the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Own plant maintenance KPIs. Coordinate the development of RCAs and action plans to solve problems and drive improvements. Implement and enforce company safety policy; responsible for team member safety. Ensure food safety & quality as it relates to plant maintenance activities and programs. Ensure plant schedule attainment as it relates to plant maintenance activities and programs. Lead teams of maintenance mechanics & electricians in preventive & predictive maintenance and machine repair. Deliver cost KPIs including MRO inventory & plant maintenance costs. Oversee measurement, tracking and planning for safety, quality, repair and preventive maintenance programs for the facilities. Provide oversight for execution and completion of comprehensive design verification and process validation protocols. Own the ammonia refrigeration systems and PSM programs. Ensure product, process, and project documentation is complete, accurate and sufficient for development and production teams; assemble technology transfer documentation. Provide development engineering input to cross‑functional product development teams. Provide long‑term solutions and day‑to‑day support to all operating teams for troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc. Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures. Maintain company culture and uphold JBS values. Recommend improvements to the leadership team to enhance the maintenance function. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of maintenance, maintenance supervision, or process/project management experience. Previous experience with ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boiler, compressed air, mechanical and electrical fields (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering). Knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory and scheduling. Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, empowerment and delegation). Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high‑level process issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good planning and priority‑setting skills. Safety minded. May be required to work long hours and weekends. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods. Maintaining composure under urgency and pressure situations; handling multiple tasks concurrently; exposure to sensitive and confidential information; exposure to stressful situations; may work additional hours or overtime without advance notice; must see, hear and speak clearly; occasional lifting and/or moving up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted.
