Compensation: $28 - $34 / hr

Hours: 9AM - 5PM

Position Summary

A large corporation is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to support daily accounts receivable and accounts payable operations. This role will handle the responsibilities of accurate invoice creation, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and analyze account activity to support accurate financial reporting and the close process.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders by responding to questions and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare journal entries related to accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts as part of monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Manage customer invoicing and support day-to-day accounts receivable functions, ensuring billing is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance the use of accounting systems and technology.
• Maintain vendor records and onboarding documentation, including tax reporting requirements and 1099 compliance.
• Record daily cash activity and ensure all transactions are accurately reflected within the accounting system.
• Review and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable aging reports, researching discrepancies and following up on outstanding items.
• Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives that contribute to the growth and success of the finance team.
• Process vendor invoices from receipt through payment, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
• Serve as a resource for internal departments and external partners by addressing payment, billing, and accounting-related inquiries.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline required.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency within Excel
• Exposure to large ERP systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Comfortable learning new technologies and navigating multiple systems.
